Janice Beaton
Chief Officer
With over 23 years of commitment to S4F, Janice has led the organisation from a grassroots support group to a registered charity with a respected voice in the community. A fierce advocate with deep lived experience, she balances behind-the-scenes graft with bold, strategic collaboration — from rolling up her sleeves at the café to shaping services alongside councils, funders, and community leaders.
Janice is known for her integrity, courage, and tireless focus on justice and inclusion. She works quietly when needed — and loudly when it counts — to ensure families get the support they deserve.
Fun Fact: She drives a van affectionately known as “the Tardis,” stocked with everything from snacks and chargers to a drill and toilet roll. There’s no such thing as “unprepared” on her watch.

Kitty McColl
Children's Officer
For over nine years, Kitty has been at the heart of our work with children. She creates playful, safe, imaginative spaces where kids can laugh, express themselves, and just be kids. With warmth, creativity, and boundless energy, Kitty helps children feel seen, heard, and celebrated.
Her deep belief in outdoor play and real-world connection (hello puddle-jumping!) means there’s always room for mess, magic, and memory-making in our sessions.
Fun Fact: Kitty never met a glitter project she didn’t love — and somehow, always leaves with sparkles in her hair.

Shona Bruce
Counselling Manager
Shona has been with the service for over six years and brings her therapeutic experience and a calm, steady presence to her work in counselling with teenage girls and individuals affected by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Her trauma-informed practice is rooted in compassion, confidentiality, and a non-judgemental approach — helping people explore grief, relationships, anxiety, and more with dignity and support.
Shona co-leads Girls@S4F activity group alongside Jools and ensures every person who reaches out for help is met with care, timing, and trust. Her work is central to how we help people move forward.
Fun Fact: She loves fresh air, a good coffee, and the perfect playlist to change your whole mood.
